The intent of this experiment is to analyze the belongingss of several gasses. which were the merchandises of a reaction. and analyze the manner the gasses respond under certain conditions. Hypothesis:

If the gasses are right synthesized so there will be a clear reaction with the debut of the fire. O2. CO2. Air. limewater. and Bromthymol index.

Procedures:

Measure 1. I placed a little sum of Mossy Zn in the trial tubing and so added HCL. I used the gum elastic stopper and a pipet bulb to roll up the Hydrogen gas synthesis. I filled the pipet bulb with H2O and placed it over the gum elastic stopper and waited for the H2 to wholly displace the H2O. Once it had displaced the H2O. I removed the bulb and gently squeezed it into the lucifer fire. There was a really hearable “pop” and I observed the burning of the H2. ( Step 1 cont. ) I filled another pipet bulb with 2/3 H2 and set it aside for subsequently usage. Measure 2. I placed a little sum of Manganese into the trial tubing and added plenty 3 % H2O2 to about make full the trial tubing. Using the same gum elastic stopper/bulb mechanism. I collected the O2 gas that was synthesized.

Once all of the H2O had been displaced. I lit a toothpick on fire and allow it fire for a few seconds until it was extinguished. I removed the pipet bulb and inserted the radiance toothpick into the bulb and observed the radiance coals reignite momently. Step 3. Using the H2 bulb from Step 1. I placed the bulb over the O2 gas bringing tubing and displaced the remainder of the H2O with O. I removed the pipet bulb and introduced the gas to the fire. I observed no reaction with this gas. Measure 4. Using the Baking sodium carbonate and white acetum. I combined the two in the gas bringing tubing and waited for the reaction to settle before attaching the stopper.

I filled another pipet bulb with the CO2 synthesis by displacing the H2O out. I removed the bulb and introduced the fire. which instantly extinguished the fire. ( Step 4 cont. ) I combined baking sodium carbonate and acetum once more and attached the stopper with Cu and plastic tube assembly. I added a few milliliter of limewater to a well of my well home base and ran the CO2 through the tubing of the gas assembly through the limewater. which caused it to turn a cloudy colour and perchance bring forth a precipitate. Using the same gas assembly technique. I ran the CO2 through a few milliliter bromothymol blue in the well home base as good.

When the gas contacted the bromothymol. it turned from bluish to yellow so to a murky viridity. Measure 5. I added a few pieces of Alka Seltzer to the gas bringing tubing and added H2O to make the gas reaction. Using the gas assembly C & A ; P tubing. I ran this gas synthesis through the limewater in the well home base. which turned the limewater from hazy to unclutter. Step 6. I put some of the limewater in the trial tubing and with the straw. I breathed through the limewater. This had the opposite consequence of the Alka seltzer gas as the breath caused the limewater to turn hazy.

Analysis:

( Consequences included in my processs ) The H was proven to be combustable. The O was proven to be flameable. No reaction with the H and O mixture which may hold been an experimental mistake caused by ( unknown ) . Carbon dioxide extinguished the fire. turned the limewater cloudy. and altered the pH of the bromothymol. Alka Seltzer turned the limewater clear. Breath turned the limewater hazy.

Decision:

Since I was able to synthesise the gasses accurately. I was able to see a reaction which indicated the belongingss of the gas in the assorted experiments. With the exclusion of the O and H which produced no reaction.
