The Great depression and the New Deal
The Great Depression began in October 1929, when the stock market in the United States dropped quickly. Thousands of investors lost tonss of money and many were wiped out, lost everything. The clang led us into the Great Depression. The resulting period ranked as the longest and worst period of high unemployment and low concern activity in modern times. Banks, shops, and mills were closed and left 1000000s of Americans idle and homeless. Many people came to depend on the authorities or charity to supply them with nutrient.

In the United States, President Herbert Hoover held office when the Great Depression began. The economic system continued to slouch about every month. Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected President in 1932. Roosevelt & # 8217 ; s new trade reforms gave the authorities more power and helped ease the depression. The Great Depression ended as states increased their production of war stuffs at the start of World War II. This increased production made more occupations and set a clump of money back into circulation.
