What is a Peace Hero? Webster describes a hero as, A adult male noted for brave Acts of the Apostless or aristocracy of intent. One who has risked or sacrificed his life. Peace is described as, The absence of war or other belligerencies. Isn T that the life of a Marine? Every twenty-four hours they are willing to put on the line their lives for the brave act of peace. Valuess such as Honor, Courage, and Commitment are what make Marines and in kernel, Heroes. Up until 1999 I ne’er truly thought about the Marine Corps, but when my brother became a Marine, my cognition of what they stand for greatly increased. I realize throughout the twentieth Century, there has been many peace heroes. But where would these heroes be without the heroes behind the scenes keeping the peace in which they live.

The Marines have a greater duty than we can perchance penetrate. They hold the kernel of peace in their custodies. With bravery they defend the state they are called to function. Many of us do non understand this naming, but we enjoy the benefits they provide. While we work our eight-hour yearss and travel to a safe topographic point of safety called place, they are deployed from their place, household, and friends to a foreign state non ever safe. t the Marines have the toughest and most hard preparation class in the universe. Work force and adult females from all over the universe seek their abilities of strength and bravery to see what life can throw at them, and what it is to be a true Marine. The United States Marine mental and moral qualities have been tested throughout history. Through the long history of the Marine Corps there are illustrations, both in war and in peace, or such qualities as versatility, trustiness, straightforwardness and doggedness of intent, bravery, fidelity, and selflessness ( Video ) .

The most outstanding usage in the Marine Corps is merely being a Marine and all that it implies. It is that pride which sets a United States Marine apart from the work forces of other armed services. Possibly it has best been defined by Senator Paul H. Douglas: Those of us who have had the privilege of functioning in the Marine Corps value our experience as among the most cherished of our lives. The family of shared adversities and dangers in the worthy cause creates a close bond of chumminess. It is the basic ground for the coherence of Marines and for the pride we have in our Corps and our trueness to each other. ( Douglas ) A Marine is proud of his Corps and believes it to be 2nd to none. He is loyal to his companions and to the Marine Corps, adhering ever to the slogan Semper Fidelis that is Latin for ever faithful. Faithful to God, Country, Family, and the Corps.

Marines may be known for being difficult and tough, but they besides have Black Marias when catastrophes strike.
