REVOLUTION Essay, Research Paper
Before the war.
Before the war, there were tonss of jobs
which led up to the revolution and we call them
the long term causes. The provincials working and
populating conditions were really bad but the
authorities made it even worse by its ain
policies. Russia needed to develop its industries,
so that it was a modern agricultural state
alternatively of a backward one and besides to stay in
an of import military power. To help this quandary
the authorities invested in tremendous sums of
money in bettering Russia? s industries. Where
did most of this money come from? From the
pockets of the people in Soviet union!
To make this, the provincials had to pay immense revenue enhancements
non merely on grain but on about all mundane points
such as intoxicant and salt! However, the
workers? rewards still stayed really low and did non
addition much at wholly as the authorities wanted
to squash the people for every penny they could
acquire to set into industrial development. Soon subsequently,
all seemed good, Fe and steel industries grew
quickly but so 1000s of workers lost their
occupations. This was a cause for work stoppages and rebellions
against directors and the authorities. Besides,
things were non traveling really good in the state
side. As if being taxed for all you were deserving
wasn? t plenty, there were really bad crops for
a twosome of old ages so now they were hungering as
good! To return the favor, the provincials became
violent and started to fire landlords? houses.
Then the Tzar went to war with Japan which he
idea would do the public believe in the
authorities once more. However, it backfired on him
and caused all the same jobs once more but by a
greater grade. That truly infuriated the people!
Leading up to the war the provincials and workers
still had:
*Inadequate vesture
*Insufficient and unhealthy nutrient
*Long, difficult hours at work
*Inadequate housing/shelter
*Self-made amusement
*Impoverished criterion of life
*Very low quality of life
*Age of death-early 20 & # 8217 ; s-30 & # 8217 ; s.
These were the immense differences in the quality of
life between the rich and the hapless as the rich
had:
*More than equal vesture
*More than adequate nutrient
*Lived on lifting and unearned income
*Entertainment was provided for them
*Excellent criterion of life
*More than first-class quality of life
*Age of death-late 50 & # 8217 ; s, 60 & # 8217 ; s and above
In these old ages taking up to the war, as you can
see, the populating criterion of the provincials and
workers did non better as so they were forced
to lift up against these monolithic insufficiencies! !
Politically, Russia was really unstable as the
people had lost a batch of regard for the
authorities and the Tzar. When the Tzar started
to utilize the Dumas people began to inquire
whether they would hold any existent power. By the
Dumas foremost run intoing it was clear. They could non
base on balls Torahs, they could non name curates and
they could non command finance in such of import
countries as defense mechanism. Was at that place much point in them
if the Tzar did non like what they were making or
suggesting to make, he could fade out them? ? So, no.
In my sentiment the peoples positions were non being
heard through the Dumas. There are tonss of
sentiments as whether the Tzar was fit to govern
Russia. In my sentiment, the Tzar was non fit to govern
Soviet union but this was by no means his ain mistake.
He was taught as a soldier and he was non taught
to move and act like a male monarch so it was his
statecraft that was at mistake, non him himself! !
The War.
The war did non merely consequence the ground forces but the
people at place. Food was acquiring
short, all the
male provincials had to be taken off to the ground forces so
merely adult females and shut-ins were left to be given the
farms, stores.etc. All the working trains were
being put to utilize for the war attempt so nutrient was
non acquiring through from other topographic points. About all
unneeded mills in the metropoliss were closed
so that furthed in another massive
unemployment. Peoples were non acquiring coal and
wood to fire because the coal industries were
shut down so the people were stop deading every bit good.
Not merely that but the monetary values were lifting every bit good
because of the deficits! Wagess were non traveling
up, workers had to work longer hours, and
Vodka had stopped being made during the war
so the people now had nil to submerge their
sorrows in! ! There was a greater poorness all
unit of ammunition, a loss in assurance in the authorities
and there was no terminal to the atrocious intelligence about
the awful deceases and casualties from far at the
front lines!
Nicholas II made two really big and obvious
errors. The first was that he made himself
caput of the armed forces so when anything went
incorrect the people and soldiers blamed him as he
was the caput. What he should hold done was
do a General the caput so that if anything did
travel incorrect he would be blamed and non him. Then
he could hold sacked that General and given the
occupation to another individual! His 2nd error was
that when he went off to contend in the war he
left his married woman in charge of the state and she was
German and they were contending the Germans so
that was a unfortunate error. She did non
cognize how to govern any more than he did so the
authorities merely carried on as they were making
anyhow! !
The Tzarina was so involved with Rasputin as
he had ( purportedly ) saved her boies life, twice.
She was a really spiritual adult female and was
convinced that Rasputin had been sent by God to
salvage her boy. Rasputin so became a stopping point
friend of the royal household. Their relationship
shocked even the highest degree of authorities
and society and their reputes suffered from
it! !
The Revolution.
By March 1917 the state of affairs had become
desperate and there was a serious temper of
discontent. The workers wanted political
alterations every bit good as nutrient and fuel. Tens of
1000s of workers were traveling on work stoppage and
even the adult females joined in as it was International
Womans? s Day. They were demanding nutrient, fuel,
better conditions and a better authorities.
On the 12 March, soldiers refused to fire on
crowds, some regiments shot their officers and
joined in the presentations. They had had
sufficiency of the war and the manner they were being
treated! The soldiers joined the strikers and the
adult females in the streets marched to the Duma to
demand that they take control of the authorities.
I think that this was a major turning point. In my
sentiment it would hold taken a much longer clip
to subvert the authorities without the soldiers
fall ining in! !
Decisions.
In my sentiment, most of the above issues are long
term causes, the short term 1s were about the
deficiency of equipment and infirmary installations, the
incompetency of the officers, unequal armor,
arms.etc. , the monolithic loss of life and the
25 % abandonments! ! In my sentiment, it was non the
Tzar? s mistake deliberately to be a bad leader. It
was his predecessors who did non develop him
decently. If they had truly cared about what was
to go on after they had died they would hold
done something about conveying up proper
leaders. I think that they were really careless
about taking leaders but I besides feel really regretful
for the Tzar, it was NOT his mistake! !
