I am composing an RBI on Respect and Disrespect. Respect is one of the seven ground forces values. It is the 3rd ground forces value. AS an NCO I should populate up to all ground forces values at a criterion higher so soldiers. The first ground forces value is Loyalty means to bear true religion and commitment to the U. S. fundamental law. the Army. and other soldiers. To be loyal to the state and its heritage. I seen boxes on the side of the route. I did non believe and took them. I was non loyal to me fellow soldiers that where in demand of the boxes. By have oning the uniform you are showing your trueness an by making your portion. you show your trueness to your unit.

I did non make by portion by assisting the storm victims. The 2nd ground forces value is Duty it means to carry through your duties. Accept duty for your ain actions and those entrusted to your attention. Find opportunities to better oneself for the good of the group. I accept my duty for taking the boxes. I know I was incorrect and may hold cause a household to non hold the agencies to travel their belonging because I was merely believing of myself. It besides means how we consider others reflects upon each of us. both personally and as a professional organisation. When I took the boxes I did non handle the soldiers that lost properties as I would hold like to be treated. If what happen to them go on to me I would hold thought the universe was coming to an terminal. The determination I made shown that I had regard for them. myself or the military. My actions were disrespectfully to my unit and the armed forces. The actions that I took that twenty-four hours will non go on once more. I will believe of others before I think of myself.

Webster defines regard as an act of giving peculiar attending and consideration. I did non see the well-being of the people that was affected by the storm or how others would see my actions. I know that I failed my soldiers and all the people that were affected by the storm. The 4th ground forces value is altruistic service it means to set the public assistance of the state. the Army. and your subsidiaries before your ain. Selfless service leads to organisational teamwork and encompasses subject. self-denial and religion in the system. I did non follow the 4th ground forces value.

I did set the demands of the storm victims before my demands. I must ever that of others before I think of myself. The 5th ground forces value is honor it means to populate to all the Army values. I did non populate up to any of the ground forces values and I have failed as a NCO. The 6th ground forces value is Integrity it means to make what is right. lawfully and morally. Be willing to make what is right even when no 1 is looking. It is our “moral compass” an interior voice. I did non make what was morally right. My actions caused others to name my unity into drama. Soldiers now believe that I want do things that are right. because I did something wrong.

Now I need to demo soldiers that I do hold unity. The last ground forces value is personal bravery it means how we use our ability to face fright. danger. or hardship. both physical and moral bravery. I have no personal bravery. I would non hold been able to travel on if I lost what the soldiers lost in the storm. I know now what the ground forces values are and understand how I did non move as a soldier or an NCO. I should populate by the ground forces values when I am in uniform and when I am non in unvarying. I army values should be used when do all determination military and personal.
