Toni Morrison & # 8217 ; s novel, Beloved, reveals the effects of human emotion and its power to project an person into a battle against him or herself. In the beginning of the novel, the reader sees the chief character, Sethe, as a adult female who is resigned to her bare life and isolates herself from all those around her. Yet, she was one time a adult female full of feeling: she had loved her hubby Halle, loved her four immature kids, and loved the yearss of the Clearing.
