Ancient Greek temples are among the most brilliant plants of art of all time created by world. Their perfect manner and beauty still inspires creative persons and designers. This paper is aimed to discourse. comparison and contrast the Grecian Temple of Olympian Zeus and temple of Hephaestus in Athens in footings of period. finish. stuffs. edifice techniques. etc. The Temple of Hephaestus B longs to classical period. It has been built in V century BC after release of Greece from Iranian invasion.

In contrast. the Temple of Olympian Zeus is difficult to be attributed to demand era. Construction works started in VI BC in the classical period and have been completed merely in II AD in the Roman period. These are spiritual edifices erected to idolize several Grecian Gods. The temple of Hephaestus is located in Athens at the former Agora and the temple of Zeus stands about 500 metres from Acropolis.

The temple of Hephaestus is angled with sides of 13. 708 thousand North to south and 31. 776 m E to west. with six columns on the short E and West sides and 13 columns along the longer north and south sides. The temple of Zeus is much larger with sides of 96 metres along its sides and 40 metres along its eastern and western faces and has 104 columns. Material for both edifices is marble. The difference between the manners of temples becomes obvious when looking at their columns.

The temple of Hephaestus has severe Doric columns and the temple of Zeus has florid Corinthian columns. Both of the edifices can be called classical illustrations of Grecian architecture. subjected to all its usual regulations in manner and composing. which are usual for temples and public edifices in Ancient Greece.
