Eddie Carbone is a complicated character. some say he is a scoundrel due to the actions that he takes. others sympathise with him. stating that he is a victim. You can see him in different visible radiations. although he acts. some may state. in a nefarious mode. he is a victim of his feelings. confused and unsure of the right thing to make. Eddie has really strong feelings that he finds really hard to get by with. this leads the audience to experience sympathy towards him. He loves Catherine and feels really responsible for her well being.
He shows this when he say’s “I promised your female parent on her deathbed. Eddie feels he has a sense of responsibility that he needs to protect her from the outside universe. He is at struggle with himself as he feels responsible for Catherine but besides knows that he needs to allow her travel. He is besides covetous and disgusted by Rodolfo.
