What is a Renaissance? A Renaissance is a motion or period of vigorous artistic and rational activity. There was a celebrated Renaissance in Europe during the passage from mediaeval times to modern times that is still taught today. This Renaissance was called The New Negro Movement, but was subsequently called the Harlem Renaissance.
