Dirt Bikes being an off-road motorcycle manufacturing and sales company is facing the challenges to streamline and automate the manufacturing and sales operations. Though the organization has simple operations like design, engineering, administrative and corporate sales. Though company doesn’t have much internal operation conflicts, it has a poor work order accessible system, with which the remote customers who lives more than 50 miles are supposed to produce authentication for verification while purchasing directly from the authorized Dirt Bikes dealer.  Also the company is not able to produce the on line news postings immediately to the branches and the remote customers due to the lack of web portal. So it is recommended that Dirt Bikes should adopt a consistent order management system by using web technologies to make the ordering system convenient to the target US Market as it is aspiring to capture the market.

However in order to implement a successful order management system, Dirt Bike company, According to Kenneth C.Laudon, Jane P.Laudon, should adopt an appropriate corrective strategies to combat with the anticipated potential implementation problems. In the direction of successful implementation of Web based order management system the company has to adopt a systematic project management and risk management methodologies. Rivard and Talbot, 2001; McFarlan, 1981), the first step in managing project risk is identifying the nature and level of risk confronting the project. So when Dirt Bike company adopts a risk management method, it can easily mitigate any expected risks in the process of new system. Also the Risk management method offers the backup masseurs and disaster recovery plans to the company and makes the organization disaster ready.

As Dirt Bikes has no such plans till now, it is advise to start with the contingency plans an adopt a good quality management system parallel to monitor the performance.  Before starting developing the new order system the company should assign a feasibility and requirements analysis to have the complete specifications in hand.  While designing the project management phases Case tools should be used to have accuracy. And  a systematic unit testing, functional and integration testing should be conducted to avoid any errors in the implementation. A step by step Quality procedure documentation is necessary to meet the standards.

Under expansion activities, the company Dirt Bikes should launch the web portal to offer connectivity between the Sales and Marketing department and the customers. So in this regard the marketing department uusually collects and keeps the Customer personal information like address, age, gender and some key financial information regarding payments which is highly sensitive. The company needs to maintain consumer privacy policies to avoid the misuse of the data by the employees or by any third party. Such policies build trust in customer to submit sensitive data. So it is recommended that Dirt Bikes to maintain the purpose of collection of data and the utility of data research purpose etc clearly in the privacy policy. When supported by the constructive data, the company can make use of the consumer data to promote special offers and company news at the require levels.

The adoption of quality policies will enable the company to comply with the legal requirements like Sarbanes-Oxley and Patriot Act etc., While complying the organizational procedures with

the “Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 the company can achieve a corporate governance and accountability. Through the adoption of Information technology Dirt Bikes can exercise Internal control which is important for financial reporting process.

The compliance with the Patriot Act will enable the Dirt Bikes to search the consumer records acquired through telephone, e-mail communications, medical, financial sources. In order to excecute the financial transactions in the foreign trade, the company is recommended to observe Patriot Act, which helps to maintain the disclosure of data through electronic communications.
