Lincoln & # 8217 ; s Legacy

A bequest is something that is passed down from a predecessor. Lincoln & # 8217 ; s

bequest is the instructions that he had wanted all of us, as American citizens, to

unrecorded by. In the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln explained what our

duties as American citizens are. His constructs tie all off U.S.

history together and help the prosperity of our state.

In the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln stated that all work forces are created equal.

He was repeating the beliefs of Thomas Jefferson when Jefferson wrote the

Declaration of Independence. Lincoln was seeking to explicate to us that integrity

plays a major function in our lives. Merely as Jefferson stated many old ages

antecedently, we must handle all work forces as our brothers in order to maintain the

American society united.

Lincoln besides stated that a great civil war is something that is really

hard for a state to digest. The Constitution provinces that we must make

and keep a more perfect brotherhood. That is impossible when we are contending

P >

against ourselves. Lincoln said that & # 8220 ; A house divided against itself can non

stand. & # 8221 ; This is what James Madison, & # 8220 ; the male parent of the fundamental law, & # 8221 ; meant in

the fundamental law. We must compromise to work out our dissensions and maintain our

state together.

The thought that many work forces had died for our state and that we should non

bury them was strongly emphasized in he Gettysburg Address. In the Bill of

Rights it is conveyed that no individual should be deprived of their basic rights.

These work forces that died in order that we could wholly be sovereign, and that cipher

could have anyone else, were deprived of everything when their lives were taken.

It is our duty to ne’er bury what they have so courageously done for us.

Lincoln & # 8217 ; s bequest has taught us to handle others reasonably, to remain united,

and to demo regard where regard is deserved. We, as American citizens, must

follow these instructions. If looked at closely, many people, in many paperss,

have been clearly been stating us what we can make to make the ideal society.
