Life is tough plenty without holding barriers in one & # 8217 ; s manner such as ; being a societal castaway, a victim of racism, or holding to endure due to poorness. Three of the characters from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird were born into confronting versions of those barriers. The characters include Walter Cunningham, Boo Radley, and Tom Robinson. These less fortunate people in the novel are forced to cover with serious rough worlds of life, and the manner they deal with them diversifies from victim to victim.

Walter Cunningham was without a uncertainty a sort, honorable adult male with hopes and dreams merely like most people. He, unluckily had to cover with the job of poorness. The Cunningham household was one of the poorest in Maycomb County. & # 8220 ; Not precisely. The Cunninghams are state folks, husbandmans, and the clang hit them hardest. & # 8221 ; ( Lee, 21 ) He, like others during this clip period were enduring from The Great Depression, and unluckily there was nil he could make about it. Although the Cunninghams are hapless, that doesn & # 8217 ; t mean they appreciate aid from others. In fact they are embarrassed to take charity. The Cunninghams are excessively proud to take anything without paying or working for it. & # 8220 ; Your shamin & # 8217 ;

him, Miss Caroline. Walter hasn & # 8217 ; t got a one-fourth at place to convey you, and you can & # 8217 ; t utilize any stovewood. & # 8221 ; ( 21 ) When Miss Caroline offers the money to Walter, Scout rapidly stairss in, seeking to salvage her from an awkward minute. The Cunningham & # 8217 ; s fiscal state of affairs is difficult plenty for Walter. He no uncertainty feels as if it & # 8217 ; s his mistake, he has let the household down. & # 8220 ; We brought him place for dinner one clip & # 8230 ; & # 8221 ; ( 154 ) This quotation mark may look violative to Walter, stating he can & # 8217 ; t supply plenty nutrient so his boy has to travel

else where for dinner. All these things are hard, and the lone manner Walter Cunningham knows how to cover with them is to maintain on working hard.

Boo Radley & # 8217 ; s problems are different. Different in the sense that they were linked to his teenage years-and his adolescent attitude was bad. He lived a foolhardy life. & # 8220 ; Cipher in Maycomb had the nervus to state Mr. Radley that Boo was hanging outwith the incorrect crowd. & # 8221 ; ( 10 ) This was the sad truth about Arthur Radley. No 1 truly of all time spoke out to assist him. Finally he paid for his life style and was locked up for old ages. & # 8220 ; Boo & # 8217 ; s transitio

n from the cellar back home…” ( 11 ) This would alter Boo’s life everlastingly. After all that he went through, Boo Radley knew he could ne’er be accepted back into society as a normal human being. Others viewed him as an animate being. “Boo was about six and a half pess tall, judging from his paths ; he dined on natural squirrels…” ( 13 ) Having people think things like this about him was damaging and did non assist one spot with his rehabilitation back into society. He would ever hold something

at that place to halt him. The lone clip he could experience like an recognized homo being, is when he was pass oning with Jem, Scout, and Dill.

Throughout the secret plan, one personality was found to be on the losing terminal of things once more and once more. Tom Robinson could make nil about his obstruction. He was a black adult male, and as such was looked down upon from most of Maycomb Alabama. Tom & # 8217 ; s first job dealt with being used by a white adult female. Mayella Ewell verbally treated Tom as a slave, and made him make odds and ends around the house. & # 8220 ; She told me to come indoors and break up a chiffarobe for her & # 8230 ; & # 8221 ; ( 191 ) Tom discharged these things more than one time, and so one twenty-four hours he was falsely impeached by her for something he did non make. He was accused and found guilty to possibly one of the worst offenses any adult male could hold been accused for. He was arraigned of assailing Mayella Ewell. & # 8220 ; You testified that you turned around, and at that place he was. He choked you & # 8230 ; & # 8221 ; ( 186 ) Bing falsely accused of such a thing is adequate to give one the feeling that there is no good in life, and unluckily Tom Robinson would decease thing that. When the Maycomb Police were taking him to imprison, Robinson made an effort of get awaying. During the commotion, one of the officers shot his gun as a warning shooting, and by chance changeable and killed Tom. & # 8220 ; They shot him, he was running off and they shot him & # 8230 ; & # 8221 ; ( 235 ) A tragic terminal excessively a non so fantastic life. Tom died with non hold had wining at anything except for being a nice person-but even that he got punished for in the terminal.

These less fortunate people in the narrative were forced to digest rough facets of life. This might of been their destiny & # 8217 ; s, but none the less no 1 should hold to travel through that. Even today people have to endure from related jobs. Poverty, racism, and societal outcasting still exists today, but unluckily there is nil that can be done about it-that is the unfairness of life.
