First individual I interviewed on the construct of felicity is my friend. Ronnie Topete. He’s a great cat that I’ve met late. He’s Native American and Latin by heritage and a really interesting person to hold treatments with. The last interview was Lori Michelle Thebarge. my 3rd oldest sister. She’s been one of my best friends every bit good. She’s a batch like myself. but when it comes to the little things. she’s ignorant. The interview with Ronnie. or “Soaring Eagle” . took on Aristotle’s manner of thought in The Nicomachean Ethics. saying that things that make life good is one that is valued for its ain interest. and if it’s reached. nil else is desired. I heard him talk fondly of his girlfriend. Aurora. ( Janaro. 2012 ) To Ronnie. Aurora. is the highest or concluding good for himself. He defined felicity as “being married to the perfect individual ( Aurora ) . holding childs with that individual. and hearing those kids laugh and giggle” .

He reached this point of position since meeting her. I was told that nil was traveling his manner. and that when he met her. things started to fall into topographic point. So in her ain manner. she put things into position for him. She became his stone and his foundation. So in other words. she is his beginning of felicity. Since she was his felicity. he had achieved felicity. He grew progressively happy since meeting Aurora. His positions began to alter. and his lone cheer wasn’t in his material goods any longer. It was a human being. Aurora changed his mentality on life. increasing his joy and laughter. hence doing him happy. When I asked the inquiry. “How would you measure felicity? ” the conversation turned a small hedonic. He was overcome with the pleasance of speaking about nil of Aurora ; she consumed his every idea. feeling. demand. etc. She was the lone subject he brought up period. Conditionss prefering felicity was one time once more his girlfriend Aurora.

She was his love and laughter. His experiences were strictly altruistic at first. He mentioned giving blood and salvaging a life because of it. hearing children’s’ laughter while playing. and couple’s snuggling under trees. These experiences made him desire all of what he was hearing and seeing doing a yearning within himself. He began to take on a hedonic yearning for those things. ( Janaro. 2012 ) Ronnie said his definition of love would non alter because he had reached fulfilment with Aurora. Merely one’s bosom will cognize if they are genuinely happy. If happiness isn’t promoted. we have nil but unhappiness left. When you see others being happy. you crave it every bit good. taking on a hedonic position one time once more. Overall. he was a sincere person. and is brainsick in love with Aurora. ( Topete. 2012 ) Lori Michelle Thebarge is my sister and she thinks similar to I. Happiness in her ain words was tiping contentment in her milieus and personal life. It’s a feeling of at peace with you. When she responded on how she reached her position of felicity. she mentioned avoiding old ages of discontent once more.

Get the better ofing it. maintaining herself off from it. and easy she got herself out of that modus operandi. Happiness is achieved here by battling hurting mentioned in the Epicurean mentality on life. Her position was more Epicurean while Ronnie’s was centered around Aurora. taking on a hedonic position. ( Janaro. 2012 ) Achieving felicity was something she had to work on in general. Once she learned what made her happy. she cut out all of the negatives and nurtured the good. Ronnie said he achieved his felicity when he found Aurora. Both interviewees happiness changed over clip. Both took an active function in their life and got more control therefore doing so happier. Lori Michelle was the happiest holding cognition of doing others happy. Lori Michelle didn’t rather cognize how to measure felicity. but she thought possibly it dealt with material goods or proof from others. We get impermanent holes. but ne’er everlasting felicity that we crave. Ronnie’s respond was of pleasance in happening Aurora.

He besides spoke of Aurora as his status of felicity while Lori Michelle said it was merely an unfastened bosom and a clear head. You have to be unfastened to both in order to see felicity. While Ronnie’s experiences made him hedonistically crave felicity. Lori Michelle’s was over past grief. When she realized she was worthy of love once more. she opened her bosom and found her hubby. Mike Thebarge. Ronnie said his definition wouldn’t alteration because he had found Aurora. but Lori Michelle said hers would. You have to maintain evolving as a individual to germinate as a mate and parent. How can you learn your kids to be responsible. if you do non learn them the basicss of alteration? She besides said that felicity can non be raised or measured. but Ronnie said it could.

Lori Michelle stated that we can non stipulate the things that constitute wellbeing. If we tried. the measurement would be misdirecting no affair how good we try to make it. As for advancing felicity. she said by and large non. but personally yes. It’s possible if you know the people you are seeking to advance it to. If you do non. it ends in failure because you do non cognize what makes them happy. Ronnie disagreed with this saying if it’s non promoted or encouraged. all that’s left is unhappiness. You need to advance to see other happy and so it would distribute outward from at that place. ( Thebarge. 2012 ) Each individual had thoughtful thoughts and sentiments. They ranged in ages. where Lori Michelle Thebarge was 41 and Ronnie Topete was merely 31. He was male and she was female. I think their ages. sexes. and experiences influenced their determinations on these inquiries and that in making these interviews. they might hold better penetration on their lives every bit good. This undertaking was honoring and such a great experience for me every bit good. It’s amazing what constitutes felicity to others.
