The Sixties were an exciting radical period with great cultural alteration. Some people called it the decennary of discontent ( Britannica ) due to the race public violences in Detroit and La, and the presentations against the Vietnam War. Other people called it the decennary of peace, love, and harmoniousness ( Woodstock 69 ) . This decennary was identified every bit such as a consequence of the peace motion and the outgrowth of the flower kids. ( Britannica ) The 1960ss were about blackwash, unforgettable manner, new manners of music, civil rights, homosexual and adult females s release, Vietnam, Neil Armstrong set downing on the Moon, peace Marches, sexual freedom, drug experimentation, and Woodstock. All of these constituents caused a radical alteration in the universe of popular Music and society. The most celebrated of the Sixties stone festivals was Woodstock music and art carnival. It was held on farm belongings in Bethel New York on August 15-17th 1969 ( Woodstock 69 ) . Three Days of peace and music would come to specify a coevals. Festival organisers decided on the rubric Woodstock because it was where folksinger Bob Dylan and many other instrumentalists lived in New York. It was an artists retreat since the bend of the century. Peoples came from all around, some for the music, some for ambiance and some merely to be at that place. Although peace was a chief subject of the concert, it was hard to maintain with a crowd of 400,000 people. Woodstock contained all six of the qualities of cultural public presentation, a cultural procedure and seen as an aesthetic event.

The first quality in the cultural public presentation is whether it is a scheduled event. Woodstock was a planned event nevertheless ; the bulk of it merely fell into topographic point for three yearss. The 2nd quality is is it temporally bounded. The event was bounded by the first and last yearss. Following is is it spatially bounded. It contained a phase for the instrumentalists and an country marked off for those that paid for their ticket nevertheless, during the juncture the boundaries for the ticket holders was breached. Another quality is was it programmed. Woodstock was programmed due to the line-up, or the order in which the instrumentalists sang. The 5th quality is is this a co-ordinated public event. This was the chief intent for Woodstock to acquire people to come together to portion the peace and love. The concluding quality is is the event heightened. Woodstock is still remembered as being three yearss of a concert and people coming together to bask good music and love.

The cultural procedure of Woodstock consisted of joying in the different manners of music and in each person that came. The festival included many societal play. Persons, in that figure, are bound to hold differences. Woodstock taught people, about 400,000, how to decide their issues b

y sharing a common end. The jubilation helped to progress the thoughts of peace and integrity throughout the coevals.

The three-day jubilation was considered an aesthetic event. It was non merely a concert but an art carnival every bit good. Some plants of art were seen during the event. Peoples wore the art in the signifier of organic structure pigment and others drew images from the psychedelic drugs that were taken. Woodstock was a assemblage of many that came together to take pleasance in art and its many signifiers.

There won T be another Elvis, and neither will at that place be another Woodstock. Not merely are at that place excessively many Torahs and local regulations today, but consider the times: a societal consciousness united behind a common cause that filtered it s manner into the humanistic disciplines, and a state divided over whether we should or shouldn t be in Vietnam. The timing was right for many attendants, there were dozenss of childs on summer holiday looking for something to make, and they found it.

The people in my group were great. I liked meeting and organizing a united group. All of us were committed to doing this presentation the best it could be. The toughest portion of our book was happening existent commentary from Woodstock. At first, we thought happening quotation marks from Woodstock would be difficult, but so Shawna found a message board where people shared their experiences from the festival. I found a web site that had quotation marks from some of Janis s interviews which worked into the book absolutely. I truly liked the openness we shared and the choosing of our characters. It was difficult for us to run into every bit much as we wanted due to our changing agendas, but we managed through phone calls and late dark meetings. In the beginning, a few of the group members did non adhere to the earnestness of our public presentation and doing it the best we could. After a few lost meetings, they calmed down and began working and supplying great thoughts. I would hold to state that the late dark meetings were the worst portion. Each of us had great thoughts for the public presentation. I would state if I had to make something otherwise, I would take to hold scheduled meetings that all of us could lodge to. I realize people have to work, but adjustments should be made. In add-on, I would hold the book as the first thing done alternatively of waiting until a hebdomad before it was finished. Overall, though, I felt this was a great learning experience for me. I have gotten to cognize four people from different backgrounds and sentiments, which coincide with the subject at Woodstock, love one another.
