Boo Radley and Tom Robinson

Both Boo Radley and Tom Robinson were castawaies to the society of

Maycomb. Boo was locked away in his house, where Tom was a black adult male.

Racism was really bad in the 1930 s. No 1 wanted to be a black adult male s

friend and if person said he had done something incorrect, he had evidently

done something incorrect. Like in Tom s instance. Tom had been framed for

colza, which he didn t do.Tom ne’er harmed anyone ( Lee, 195 ) Racism led

to his penalty, as he was carried off from the courthouse to gaol.

Tom was an ordinary black adult male. He had a married woman and childs and was

stuck in a topographic point full of racism. Boo on the other manus was white and until he

stabbed his male parent in the articulatio genus, was ordinary excessively. Boo was locked up in the

courthouse until his male parent brought him place, where he stayed for many

old ages. He sometimes came out though, but merely during the dark. He

sometimes tried to link with the outside universe by seting gifts in the

trees for Jem and Scout ( Lee, 278 ) , merely to be cut off by Nathan Radley

cementing the hole shut.

Tom and Boo both had similar qualities they both had affects on

different characters in the narrative. Like Atticus for illustration. Atticus had to

represent Tom Robinson in tribunal for a offense Atticus knew Tom didn t even

commit. Atticus besides knew that they had likely already lost the instance, due

to racial bias. With all the grounds that Atticus had gathered, none was

even considered due to racial favoritism. Mayella was beaten on the left

side of her and

Tom s left arm wasn t even functional ( Lee, 179 ) . Boo Radley

on the otherhand had helped Atticus, by salvaging the lives of his kids, Jem

and Scout. Bob Ewell tried assailing both Jem and Scout, but merely hurt Jem.

Boo came and killed Bob Ewell by knifing him under the rib coop with a

kitchen knife ( Lee, 266 ) . He rapidly carried the unconsious Jem to the Finch

house. Then and at that place Atticus had proven to Scout that Boo was none other

than a human being, non a monster.

The kids all along thought Boo was a monster. He scared them, as

they wondered about him. He had been watching the childs as they play the

game about him. Not cognizing it. During the narrative he was put to dishonor, as

he wasn T allowed contact to the outside universe. Tom had besides been put to

shame as he was being labelled non merely as a nigga but a raper excessively.

Tom Robinson had merely went into the Ewell house to chop up a cabinet, but

was so framed for colza. Bob Ewell couldn Ts take the incrimination for ravishing his

girl, so he blamed it on Tom. Stating that Tom was the 1 who had

raped his girl.

The comparing between both Tom Robinson and Boo Radley is that

they were both prejugded by the citizens of Maycomb. Neither Boo or Tom

was given any aid between there problems. No 1 helped Boo when he

went loony, they merely locked him up and hoped it would travel off. Tom they

merely wouldn t listen excessively because he was black. Both went through about the

same problems and both were unhelped, which led to the decease of Tom

Robinson and the manner Boo was locked up in his house. No one even cared.
