Sigmound Freud wrote many books, publications, and articles about the topic of dreams and how to construe them. He had many theories refering to why, what, and how to construe our dreams and happen a significance hidden within them.

Freud had many theories about what certain dreams and the objects within those dreams are symbols of. His theory of dreams is based on a figure of things. First of which is that dreams are basically the method of protecting slumber. As slumber is a necessity to a healthy operation organic structure, the demand for the head to go on responding to stimuli while the organic structure is at remainder, is indispensable. He states that dreams are the head & # 8217 ; s reaction to external stimulations. For illustration, he did trials on many patients in which he would utilize external forces to see if it would so consequence their dreams. Freud placed a strong Cologne in forepart of a patients nose, and the patient dreamt that he was in Cairo moving as a kind of & # 8220 ; Zorro & # 8221 ; type hero on an escapade. So this would be one theory to how dreams come about. Such emotions are called latent dreams thought, as compared to external forces, which are called manifest dream contents. Trying to construe our & # 8220 ; latent dream ideas & # 8221 ; is called dream work. Freud believes that in order to happen true significance to these subconscious ideas 1 must travel through these four procedures.

1. Condensation: This is the procedure in which two or more associations to the latent dream idea are compressed into one image. Thus we may happen old, brooding memories from our yesteryear reenacted within our dreams.

2. Supplanting: A kind of censorshi
