My perspective of learners acquiring a second language has changed significantly. I know understand the trials they go through to acquire a new language after years of using a single language. Before reading this chapter, I was unaware of how complex English could be for others. By reintroducing the basics of vocabulary, pragmatics, and phonology, I am learning more about my language than ever. The analysis of grammatical understandings must be measured in different terms than the normal procedures. I feel that incorporating fun learning tests for new language learners can engage the students to participate willingly.

I will apply patience and examples from the book for my teaching my own leaner’s language courses. I find the examples very helpful in generating course ideas for students to undertake with time. My feelings towards the complexity of learning new languages have actually yielded my ideas to sway around a learner’s basics for majority of my courses.
