Jerry Uelsmann was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 11, 1934. He began his surveies at the Rochester Institute of Technology where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts grade. He continued on to Indiana University in 1960 and received his Maestro? s grade. Uelsmann? s foremost occupation was at the University of Florida in Gainesville learning picture taking and in 1974 he became the alumnus research professor of art at UF.
