Movies: All Quiet on the Western Front
In the film & # 8220 ; All Quiet on the Western Front & # 8221 ; we see the male childs about
inexperienced person as they sit in category. The instructor in this scene is coercing the male childs
to travel to war. He preaches that it is their & # 8220 ; responsibility & # 8221 ; to contend. The instructor seems
really pushful and rigorous. He is particularly rigorous with Paul, the chief character in
the film. In this peculiar scene, Paul is pulling a image of a bird. In
Paul & # 8217 ; s household they are glad that he is traveling to war. His household prays for him
and they pray for the Kaiser, the swayer of Germany. We see here that this is
dry because Paul & # 8217 ; s household is praying for person they have ne’er met.
When Paul goes to see his friend in the infirmary, another friend asks
for the boots he has. This shows that the male childs are already altering.
When the male childs go to the preparation cantonment they are still guiltless. They meet
Bodily Himmelstoss. Corporal Himmelstoss is really average to the male childs and is really
strict. After finishing the Training camp the male childs go to war. When the male childs
get to the battleground they are told by Kat their leader, that what they
learned in developing cantonment they do non necessitate to cognize because, you don & # 8217 ; t need to
cognize how to process in war. The first twenty-four hours they are at that place, Paul sees a Equus caballus
acquiring killed. He is really huffy about this because the Equus caballuss are guiltless and
they are non involved with the war. Paul is changed emotionally by this and he
is sad about it.
After the male childs see the Kaiser they talk and don & # 8217 ; t even know what they
are contending for. One dark in conflict Paul killed a Gallic soldier. Once he
killed the solider he begins to repent that he killed H
im. He looks at the
images of the soldier & # 8217 ; s household. Paul says that & # 8220 ; they could of been brothers & # 8221 ; .
Paul attempt to salvage the soldier & # 8217 ; s life but, can non. Paul realizes that he has
killed another homo. Paul feels compunction
In conflict Albert, Paul, and Franz acquire wounded. Franz dies and Albert
gets his leg amputated. Albert becomes down and becomes self-destructive. Franz
becomes covetous that Paul is acquiring better. Albert doesn & # 8217 ; t want to return place
with one leg so he seek & # 8217 ; s to kill himself.
After a months of killing people Paul returns place and writes a missive
to his ma. In the missive he writes that he has changed. Paul writes & # 8220 ; I am no
longer what I one time was & # 8221 ; he has changed. He no longer feels remorse for killing.
He tells his female parent that his place and his household is on the conflict field. Paul
feels that he is disconnected from his household and he is now a violent death machine.
Paul now feels like a automaton. When Paul returns and visits his instructor, the
instructor is non upset at all that most of the male childs are dead. Paul tells him that
they wanted to remain male childs and non decease instead so contend in the war.
Near the terminal of the film Paul starts to smoke. Paul has changed in many
ways. War has effected him non merely physically but, mentally. Paul is crazed
with violent death and force. At the terminal of the film, when Paul dies he sees a
bird and wants to pull it. The bird could resemble because in the schoolroom
when he foremost drew a image of the bird he was guiltless but now when he is
pulling a image of the bird, Paul is misanthropic and enraged with killing. This
could state us that the male childs were excessively immature to contend in the war and they were
forced to contend because of force per unit area of the others.
