When I went to see the film? On the Waterfront? , I thought that I was traveling to be bored because the film was in black and white. But as I started to watch the film it got more and more interesting. Then the following twenty-four hours I got to hear Dr. James Fisher talk on this film and he brought a whole new visible radiation of head into my caput. I though that? On the Waterfront? was a film about some mobsters that controlled a labour brotherhood of stevedores. Even though I thought that, I was incorrect because Dr. Fisher said the film? Represented a manner to apologize the Communist and how people were scared to attest against things the Communist party did. ? That merely made me believe a wholly different manner about the film and I understood what he was stating.

Although, he said that he was non the lone individual to see that film in that position, I thought it was alone. When I saw the film it was really interesting. The film was about a ex-boxer Terry played by Marlon Brando and his brother Charlie who are involved with a corrupt brotherhood foreman named Johnny Friendly who is responsible for the decease of a stevedore named Joey. Trouble brews when the ex-boxer is influenced by a crusading priest and turns against his foreman. A adult female named Edy influences Terry a batch because the stevedore who got killed was her brother and she wanted some an

swers on why he was dead. So when Terry meets Edy he starts to fall for her and she influences him to state the truth about her brothers? decease and the corrupt brotherhood foreman. That is what I saw the film was approximately.

Then Dr. Fisher talked about how the film came approximately. It came approximately because a Jesuit priest named John Corridan was on a particular mission to clean up the waterfront brotherhood. Then Corridan run into a author named Shulburg and so they worked a trade with Sam Spiegel of Columbia Pictures and the film was produced. Besides, Dr. Fisher talked about Truth to Power, the Christian attempt. I thought that was an interesting expression.

In decision, the talk by Dr. Fisher was really interesting along with the film? On the Waterfront? he lectured on. He showed me that films are sometimes symbolized about things that are traveling in the existent universe, but shown in a different manner. The film was a movie that exemplified the manner self-appointed autocrats can get the better of by right-thinking people in a critical democracy and therefore avoiding the chief job, which is how autocrats achieve power in the first topographic point. This defeats them non by persuasive strong beliefs about democracy but by the old film stating? retaliation and the strength that comes from love. ? And in this film it is shows how when a adult male loves a adult female it can get the better of the strength of brotherhood foremans to acquire retaliation.
