Stephen P. Robbins provinces in the “Organizational Behavior 9/e” text edition that Organizational Behavior is a field of survey. because many people in the organisational field spend clip analyzing the behaviour of people ( p. 1 ) . I learned in my anterior Organizational Behavior category in undergraduate school. that Organizational Behavior is a “fractional field” of survey because of the assorted subjects that it encompasses. There are subjects such as Psychology. Sociology. Anthropology. and Economics. along with applied Fieldss of survey such as Industrial Psychology. Political Science. Labor Relations. Human Resource Management. and Organizational Development. For this ground. it is an “Applied Science. ” Organizations themselves are of all time altering. as are the people in them. The organisations adapt to alter better than the people do. Peoples are immune to alter. and are comfy with what they know from past behaviours. Robbins states that. “three major facets of behavior” are focused on when analyzing the behaviour of people in work scenes. The three facets are “individuals. groups. and constructions ( p. 1 ) . ” When analyzing persons. there are three subjects that are researched.

These are how personality. attitudes. and motive affect work ( p. 1 ) . There is a batch of attending being paid to the behaviour of employees of groups. because of the development of squad formation over the last few old ages. Robbins provinces that people “work under a certain construction ( p. 1 ) . ” This is where socialisation and the organisational civilization affect employees. Socialization is where an employee joins an organisation. and forms outlooks about what the organisation will make for them. plus what they will make for the organisation. The organisational civilization is developed over clip. and is a “pattern of shared values and beliefs. ” There should be a tantrum between civilization. people. undertakings. scheme. and construction. This is why the research on Organizational Behavior is more of a “systematic study” than merely trusting on “intuition” entirely ( p. 1 ) . It is believed that Organizational Behavior and Organizational Culture are tied together. and when the two are combined. the results may impact public presentation. The best illustration that I have of Organizational Behavior. Culture. and Socialization being tied together in a work scene is when I worked for the Nutrition and Food Service ( N & A ; FS ) Department a several old ages ago.

The employees in the medical centre kitchen were bonded together by clip in occupation. Most of the staff had been working together for old ages. They were non receptive to new employees. and I ever loved to work. There were two or three “clicks” or groups. I was lucky and ended up with the “good employees” that liked to work. There was one group that were WG-3s and they thought that they were high plenty in the organisation that they did non hold to make anything. I would make all of my work. and two other ladies. Carol. and Geraldine. would all acquire together and clean stock suites and walk-in ice chests. I had been told to decelerate down. because I was doing the older people look bad to the supervisor. I told them that they were doing themselves look bad. When I got a full-time occupation above some of the part-timers that had been at that place for old ages. I was “black-balled. ”

I had to state my hubby ( married at the clip ) that they may name and state him that I was holding an matter ( their favourite thing to make ) . and that he merely had to disregard them. The old VA civilization was one that employees could stand around and make nil. while a few employees did everything. After a few employees of that service got fired. they learned that it was a “right to work” understanding and most have started to pick up the gait in recent old ages. Since I have been out of that occupation. I see the employees at interruption. and recognize how much all have in common. I am in a wild place at this clip. I have merely learned that I was qualified for a occupation as a Supervisor in N & A ; FS and am traveling to be scheduled for an interview. Since I know their past behaviours. I bet some of them are truly trusting that I do non acquire the occupation. and the 1s that told me to decelerate down. I bet they are truly trusting that I do non acquire the occupation.
