We. the member organisation of the Student Alliance for the Advancement of Democratic Rights in UP ( STAND UP ) . imbued with a strong desire to progress pupil rights and public assistance. acknowledging the demand to unify the studentry and associate its battle with the basic sectors of the society in prosecuting for a patriot. scientific and mass –oriented instruction. make herewith enact and proclaim this fundamental law.

Article IGeneral Provisions

Section 1This confederation of assorted pupil organisations and persons of the University f the Philippines –Diliman founded on February 1996 shall be officially known as STUDENT ALLIANCE FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS IN UP or STAND – UP. Section 2The STAND – UP shall officially follow the logo of the Oblation with a ruddy flag its right manus. The Oblation represents the UP pupils contending for his/her democratic rights and involvements and in service to the people. and the ruddy flag signifies combativeness. Section 3The official colour of STAND – UP shall be red.

Section 4The STAND – UP shall hold the STAND – Update as its official monthly publication. Section 5The STAND – UP shall keep office at the UP Diliman campus.

Article IIDECLARATION OF PRINCIPLES

Section 1The STAND – UP believes that instruction is a right. Section 2The STAND – UP believes that the present Philippine educational system is colonial. commercialized and inhibitory. This educational system is founded upon an agricultural. backward and foreign dominated society. Section 3The STAND – UP believes that there is a demand to raise the consciousness if the UP studentry and unify them to fight for a patriot. scientific and mass-oriented instruction. Section 4The STAND – UP shall continue combativeness in progressing the democratic rights and public assistance of the pupils. Section 5 The STAND – UP shall incorporate its battle with that of the other sectors. functioning non merely the studentry but besides the remainder of the society. Section 6The STAND UP believes that in the pattern of edifice principled integrity and consensus.

Article IIIMEMBERSHIP

Section 1Membership in the STAND – UP shall be unfastened to all pupil formations and persons in UP Diliman who are committed to the Alliance’s rules and aims. Article VDUTOES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEMBERS

Section 1The STAND – UP member shall stay and implement the policies. Decisions and plans of the Alliance. Section 2The STAND – UP member shall go to and actively take part in all regular and particular meetings. conferences and assemblies of the Alliance. Section 3The STAND – UP member shall advance and protect the unity of the Alliance. Section 4The STAND – UP member shall pay all fiscal duties quickly. Section 6The STAND – UP member shall develop societal consciousness and duty among the studentry by affecting them in the assorted activities of the Alliance.

Section 8The STAND – UP member shall presume such other responsibilities and duties as may be mandated by the General Assembly of the Alliance.

Article VITHE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Section 1The General Assembly ( GA ) shall be the highest policy-making organic structure of the STAND – UP. Section 2The General Assembly shall hold the undermentioned powers and maps: a ) Study. amend. revision and sign the fundamental law ; B ) Formulate. O.K. and implement determinations. policies. declarations and bases on issues and plans of action for the Alliance ; degree Celsius ) Receive and reexamine the studies of the Executive Board and Executive Council ; vitamin D ) Elect the officers of the Alliance ;

vitamin E ) Decide upon the credence of the rank of organisations into the Alliance after the recommendation of the Membership Committee ; degree Fahrenheits ) Act and make up one’s mind upon all instances of ejection of member organisation and impeachment and/or remotion of officers of the Alliance ; g ) Do such other maps and responsibilities as it may hold necessary Section 3The General Assembly of the STAND – UP shall convene within the first 30 ( 30 ) yearss after the gap of categories each semester. and every 2nd hebdomad of August for the election of officers. Section fourhe General Assembly shall convene on exigency or particular Sessionss upon the recommendation and blessing of two-thirds ( 2/3 ) of the member organisations present during the Executive Boards meet.

Article VIIITHE EXECUTIVE BOARD

Section 1The Executive Board ( EB ) of the STAND – UP shal act as the main executive and/or mplementing organic structure of the Alliance in between General Assemblies. Section 2The Executive Board shall be composed of the official reprsentatives of all member organisations. plus the Executive Council of the Alliance. Section 3The members of the Executive Board shall function a term of one semester. Section 4The Executive Board shall hold the undermentioned powers and maps: a ) impelement policies. declarations. determinations. programs or plans made by the General Assembly ;

Article XPOWER AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Section 5The Propaganda Officer of the STAND – UP shall presume primary duty over the public information and dealingss of the Alliance.

Article XISTAND – UP CHAPTERS

Section 1The STAND – UP Chapters could be established in a peculiar college by the member organisations of STAND – UP. Section 2The recommendation for the formation of the Chapter shall hold the blessing of the Executive Board. Section 3The constitution of a chapter shall hold the concluding blessing of the General Assembly of the Alliance. Article XIIFINANCE

Article XIIIAMENDMENTS AND EFFECTIVITY

Section2 All proposals for amendments must be submitted by any member organisation in written signifier together with the accounts of such the Secretary General at keadt 15 ( 15 ) yearss prior to the General Assembly.
