The demographic of analysis is the statistic study of human populations and the socio economic characteristics of a population that is expressed statistically. From the demographic analysis we jump to the marketing point, the Subway food chain and whether this franchise or organization will be able to market here or not.

This healthy fast food chain opened its first store in Bridgeport, Connecticut in August 1965 and the founder was Fred DeLuca. By 1974, he owned and operated sixteen submarine sandwich shops throughout Connecticut. In 2011 the population was at around 8,244,910 and about one out of every 36 people lived in New York City itself. Over 3 million residents are foreign born and two million altogether are under the age of eighteen. This city contains over two fifths of New York State’s entire population. This brand has led people to make healthier choices by seeking quick and fresh nutritious meals.

In New York city, this brand would be able to be successful because knowing from the demographic analysis conducted from the census throughout the years, the percentage of people who walk to work and commute from places to places usually do not have time to eat at home and many eat at places near them. There is already a Subway chain in New York and so I think that this be successful in marketing this franchise here. But also taking into account the different other famous sub shops in New York City could be a competitive challenge as well.
