In the book The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, a immature grownup by the name of Esther Greenwood tells her narrative of her mundane battle with life. Her coming of age is really hard, and she does non cognize where she fits in society. In The Catcher and the Rye, Holden Caulfield besides is seeking to happen his manner in life. He excessively faces many mental and societal challenges. In both novels, these characters go through many battles to happen their way in life.
In both books, Holden and Esther were in a phase of their lives that proved to be really hard mentally on each of them. Holden, at the age of 16, had been in a private school and left. He ventured off into the metropolis to confront the adversities that came with the bundle. Esther, an award-winning pupil was sent to New York on a scholarship. Something that both Holden and Esther shared in common was a individual of the opposite sex that they ever mentioned. Esther continually brought up Buddy Willard, her adult male from her hometown.
