The Republic written by Plato examines many things. It chiefly is about the Good life.

Plato seems to believe that the perfect life is led merely under perfect conditions which is

the perfect society. Within the perfect society at that place would hold to be justness. In the

Republic it seems that justness is defined many different ways. In this paper I am traveling to

discuss a few. First I am traveling to discourse the ground why Glaucon and Adeimantus see

justness as being a bad thing and it is better to populate a

unfair life.

Plato & # 8217 ; s elder brother Glaucon argues that the merely adult male is merely merely because of the

fright that he will acquire caught and punished or the fright of holding a bad reputes. He

explains this determination in the narrative of the two charming rings. The rings of thaumaturgy would do

a adult male unseeable whenever he turns it on his finger. He believed that each adult male would move in

the same manor. They would both interrupt into houses unobserved, and assist themselves to whatever

they wanted. The merely adult male would no longer experience the demand to be merely. He would hold two

because they find it necessary.

Adeimantus another philosopher and Socrates elder brother brought up the fact that we

justness and condemn unfairness. Adeimantus explains by stating that male parents tell there boies

to be merely because of the good reputes and societal prestigiousness that attaches to justness.

So it is non justice itself that is recommended, but instead, the reputability that it

brings with it. He believes that the boy will recognize to be merely is merely deserving it if you

can acquire a good repute. Unless you are genuinely merely the Gods will penalize you but as we

have learned from the poets the Gods can be bribed so if you

populate the unfair life you can corrupt the Gods to non penalize you. If an unfair individual fakes a

good repute so he can hold a fantastic life. He says populate a fantastic life because

the unfair adult male is said to populate a better life because he could rip off and populate good but a

merely adult male has to populate with what he has or gain his wealth honestly.Glaucon points of justness as I see them are bogus and ill-defined. He says that if a merely

individual were to hold a charming ring so he would

act as a true unfair individual because there

is no fright of penalty. If he was a genuinely a merely individual so he would non be unfair even

if there was no fright of penalty. I define a true merely adult male on his spirit and purposes

if he is merely being merely because of fright of penalty so he is non merely nor if he is

merely being merely if he desire a good repute. A adult male to be genuinely merely must want and acquire

his pleasance on life with what he every bit earned reasonably and assisting others around him.

Glaucon keeps reasoning that the unfair adult male lives a better life because he has the power and

the wealth to stamp the merely adult male about and corrupt the Gods so he does non acquire punished by

them.

Socrates goes on stating that the life and milieus are what makes up a merely individual. A

merely individual should be educated and trained of what is right and incorrect. The quality of the

justness is to be found in the society. If a society is unfair at that place can non be a merely adult male

coming out of the society because all he is taught is to be unfair. I agree that a merely

adult male must be educated and trained to state what is right and incorrect. I disagree with Socrates

point that a merely adult male is entirely educated by the society around him. I believe that a merely

adult male is non educated entirely by the society but instead educated by his parents and household

told us that we can corrupt the Gods so it does non count if we are merely or unfair as long
