The Road to Memphis was a set in Mississippi. It is written in first individual from Cassie Logan & # 8217 ; s point of position. Cassie is completing high school back place in Mississippi while America is at war in Europe and the Pacific. Cassie doesn & # 8217 ; t worry about the war much at all. Her chief focal point is her dream of acquiring into college and traveling to jurisprudence school. Though she has to finally pay close attending to the tense play go oning with her friends and households. These incidents all seem to supply interesting brushs with the black and white races. The narrative & # 8217 ; s chief intent is the penetrations from racial favoritism. The focal point of the secret plan was on how awful the favoritism was and how unjust it was that the inkinesss had no power under the Whites.
I didn & # 8217 ; t much bask this book because it lacked life. I was able to read this book rapidly but the characters feelings about one another were ill expressed.
I would hold enjoyed it more if the temper of the narrative had more description. The most of import portion of the book was the scene that set the temper of it’s location and clip period. It was indispensable in supplying the background of the narrative about racism and favoritism. This brought up attending to the happening in which Torahs and justness favored white sentiment.
What I did wish about this book was how interesting it was to read approximately merely how the struggles between the Whites and inkinesss go on and how bad they really acquire. All the struggles happen because of Statler Aames. He is a white adult male in his early 20 & # 8217 ; s and makes a point of hassling most of the inkinesss he meets, particularly the Logans and their friends. The largest struggle occurs in Strawberry, Mississippi. It is between Moe and Statler and his brothers. Moe finally can & # 8217 ; t stand the humiliation and inhuman treatment from hello. He reacts by crushing the others badly. In the yesteryear, the Logans and all their black friends ever knew that you had to take abuses from the Whites and speaking back could acquire you killed. They all accepted that ; it was merely the manner it is.
