Born in 1863 in Graz, Austria, inheritor to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian imperium, boy of Archduke Charles Louis, known as & # 8220 ; the loneliest adult male in Vienna & # 8221 ; and Archduke of Austria was Francis ( Franz ) Ferdinand. He became t inheritor to the throne after the Emperor & # 8217 ; s boy, Crown Prince Rudolph, killed himself in 1896, and the decease of his male parent in 1896. Franz was a reformer who had new thoughts to be put into act when he inherited the throne of the household of Hapsburg. One the thought he had, known as trialism, was the reorganisation of the double monarchy into a ternary monarchy by giving the Slavs and equal voice in the imperium. This would equalise the standings of the Germans and the Hungarians who were populating in the Austria-Hungary boundary lines. This thought was non favored at all with Serbian patriots. The bulk of the population of Vienna did non like Francis Ferdinand. He was frequently referred to as a miser, a bigot and a spoilt kid. He lacked the two cardinal elements for societal success ; appeal and elegance. He was known for being disdainful and mistrusting and holding a short pique and suspiciou

s nature. All of that changed when he married Sophie Chotek von Chotkova in 1900.

Since he was the Inspector General of the Army he was invited to see the capital of Bosnia, Sarajevo, to inspect ground forces manoeuvres. He accepted the invitation despite the warning of a possible blackwash secret plan against him. The archduke was chosen as a mark because the Serb & # 8217 ; s feared his programs for trialism one time he took over the throne. As Franz and his party drove through the streets of Sarajevo, a member of the terrorist group Black Hand tossed a bomb at the Archduke & # 8217 ; s car. The driver of the auto saw the bomb and accelerated to avoid it. Sophie ducked and Franz deflected the bomb with his arm. To avoid gaining control and question, Nedjelko Cabrinovic ( 19 old ages old ) , took a nitrile pill and jumped into a river. As they proceeded through the streets, the driver took a incorrect bend. Gavrilo Princip stepped frontward with two handguns and fired at Sophie and Francis. Sophie was hit and died immediately and the other hit Franz who subsequently died. Francis Ferdinand & # 8217 ; s last words were, & # 8220 ; Sophie dear, Sophie beloved, wear & # 8217 ; t decease! Stay alive for our children. & # 8221 ;
