“On the Road” is non simply a narrative of escapade. It is a narrative of a journey of life. As the characters travel back and Forth between topographic points. they move from one stage of their life to the following. It is a narrative of friendly relationship. realisation. and growing. The story’s stoping high spots the terminal of a journey for Sal. Furthermore. it shows his metabolism as a human and his growing in footings of adulthood. Besides. the last portion of the novel shows how he transformed in term s of how he viewed life and the people around him. most particularly Dean.

Most of import of all. the latter portion of the novel shows a much needed passage and alteration in Sal’s life. As he journeys entirely. it serves as a symbol and a metaphor of his growing and independency from Dean. His determination to venture out on his ain without naming on Dean to fall in him is a metaphor. As was seen in the beginning of the novel. Sal was mesmerized with Dean’s mentality of the universe. He was at awe with how Dean lived his life. He wanted the same life which was the ground he joined Dean in going around the state.

However. as the novel came to an terminal. so did Sal’s captivation with Dean and the life he was populating. His determination to travel out on his ain is grounds that he changed his position of the universe. It showed how he outgrew their old ways and moved on to more of import and valuable things in life. No longer was he interested in simple merriment and the carefree life. He aspired for more significance and significance. He craved for a more meaningful life. The stoping of the novel shows how Sal transformed as an person. It showed how he moved on to a better life. Sadly. this meant disassociation with Dean and the life he chose to populate.
