The book Snow Falling on Cedars is about a Nipponese adult male Kabuo Miyanmoto who is on test for slaying. He is accused of slaying a white adult male, Carl Heine. Much of the narrative is told through the memories of assorted characters. It is set in the 1050 & # 8217 ; s in Puget Sound on a fictional island called San Piedro. I think Snow Falling on Cedars was an first-class book.
I felt that the writer was able to show an indifferent position of the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII. He presented many diverse point of views of this period of clip and explained why they thought the manner they did. For illustration, Kabuo Miyamoto, the suspect, had fought with the US ground forces in WWII. Kabuo was profoundly affected by his experience in the war, and it changed his position of the universe. s book was because the characters were flawed, doing them more realistic. For case, the newsman, Ishmael, had a few character defects. He had fought in the war and had his arm amputated. However, after he finishes his necropsy on the victim, he tells the sheriff to look for a “right-handed Jap.” The writer showed that even the nicest people can hold biass against other people. By holding his characters be flawed, it made them and the book more merriment.
Snow Falling on Cedars proved to be an first-class book. It presented many different point of views of WWII and its consequence on Japanese-Americans. The book was indifferent and allowed you to organize your ain sentiments, which made it more educational. Besides, the characters in the book were flawed.
