Abstract:

A number of countries specifically Muslim countries are held responsible for state support terrorism. These terrorist groups work under the banner of religious sentiments of saving Muslim rights. But the fact behind is to achieve their own personal, ideological and political goals.

Iran and Syria: The perfect examples of state support terrorism.

This world has been facing the problem of terrorism from the past many decades. Terrorism is not only integrated in one area, region, or country. In fact it has now spread through out the world. Every single country in the world is facing the problem of terrorism. The reason behind is the regional disputes that are given air and fuel by the world level terrorist organizations. Take any of the following regional or country’s personal dispute.

Chechnya dispute with Russia over its liberation.
Pakistan’s dispute with India over Kashmir.
Maoists dispute with the Nepalese government.
Shia dispute with the Sunni community in various Islamic countries.
Irish dispute with the United Kingdom.
Taliban dispute within their own country Afghanistan.

What ever is the dispute, where ever is the dispute, the world level organizations are ready to spark a new war with a no end situation. And the result is the easy solutions become difficult and the world faces a new terrorism problem. Common people die, economy faces a set back and public owned items are destroyed.

Aid to terrorism:

Terrorist organizations get their finance from around the world in various forms. These include the followings.

Funds raised by black marketers.

The black market sale is often the main source of finance of terrorist organizations. In the United States, year 2006, it was observed that the profits from the black market sale of contraband cigarettes, counterfeit rolling papers and counterfeit Viagra was given to Hezbollah and many other terrorist groups and organizations which are active in the Palestine.

Around nineteen people were charged with the charge of Racketeering to support a terrorist organization for eight years. These people bought cigarettes in North Carolina, where taxes were lower, or in some cases from the New York Indian reservation centers, where there is no tax levied.

Thus by evading millions of tax money and selling the cigarettes at market price in New York and Michigan made huge profits. This profit was given as indictment charges to Hezbollah, the terrorist group.

Sympathetic Charities:

Funds are also raised from time to time in the wake of help for the orphans and the sufferers of the terrorist affected nations. These funds are later diverted to the terrorist group like Hezbollah and Hamas in the unrest area of Middle East.

United States financing terror supporting State.

Not only the people of United States but the United States government itself is made fool by using its aid money as finance for the terrorist organizations. Actually United States gives aid to various countries of the world in the form of finance, know how, war materials and tools for self defense etc.

Billions of dollars are spent to give financial assistance to the countries in making their infrastructure, improving their economic situation and development. But the same aid material is transferred to the terrorist groups by the state governments in order to achieve their personal goals and political objectives.

The result is that the terrorist organizations get enough finance to cultivate their dangerous plans and execute killings through out the world. This aid is used to get highly sophisticated arms and ammunitions, deploying man power and financing terrorist acts through out the world.

State financing the terrorist organizations.

Not only the United States aid, but many governments use their state owned resources to finance and support the projects of the terrorist groups. For instance, Afghanistan gave protection and ground to the terrorist groups before United States invaded it. Iraq, Syria, Iran financed the terrorist groups active in the Middle East. Later Iraq was also invaded by the United States to end the financial support to the terrorist groups. The governments of these and some other countries of the world give support and aid to the terrorist group for their political, ideological and personal goals and objectives.

Among the above mentioned various forms of aid to terrorism, the State aid to terrorism has proved the most destructive aid which fertile the terrorist groups on their land, finance them and even allow them to use their national resources to execute their terrorist acts. The various countries that have been under observation for financing terrorist groups are as follows.

Iran.
Syria.
Lebanon.
Pakistan.
Bangladesh.

Indonesia.

Among them are some countries which gets billions as aid from United States but redirect this finance towards the terrorist groups to achieve their political and ideological goals. Iran and Syria are the two countries on the top of the list which culminates the terrorist groups on their land.

Iran: A threat to the world peace.

Iran is the richest Muslim State in the world. After the downfall of Iraq, it’s the next possible threat to the world peace. Actually the country has enormous resources to make it a self sufficient country. The politics of the country is much affected by the Muslim extremism group. The result is financial aid and various other kinds of assistance is given to Muslim terror groups. The country is mostly found guilty in sponsoring Shia Muslim extremist groups.

With the country’s chemical and bio weapons and at the latest, an approach to make nuclear weapon has become a grave concern for the world community which is already facing Muslim terrorism.

With the past terror attacks including 9/11, the world is now more cautious about the probability that the terrorist may not acquire these weapons of Mass destructions from Iran.

Syria: Another threat to world peace.

Syria a small country but is proving dangerous for the world peace. Actually this country gives shelter and all other kinds of aids to the terrorist groups which leave no stone unturned to disrupt Israel and its American supported government. The country gives land, finance and moral support to the Muslim terrorist groups.

The Cause of dispute between east and the west: Palestine.

Palestine is the root cause of dispute between the Muslims and the Western world. Actually when Israel came into being with the support of the Western countries, it fueled the never ending dispute of land between the Muslims and the Jews people.

The Palestine Liberation Organization was established in 1964 with the Arab support. The Organization gained popularity in 1969, when Yasser Arafat, Leader of Fateh, became the chairman of the executive committee of the PLO. He later became the general commander of the Palestine forces. The main objective of the organization is to achieve national goals of Palestine people, including establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the Capital.

Hezbollah: The outcome of the joint efforts of Syria and Iran.

Hezbollah means the party of god. This movement was the result of the joint effort of Iran and Syria. Ali Akbar Mohtashemi, the Iranian Ambassador to Syria was the founder of the movement. This movement was created and sponsored by Iran in July 1982.

The main motive in the early stage of the set up was to resist the Israeli presence in the Southern Lebanon. It was established under the spiritual leadership of Sheikh Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, a well renounced Shia cleric.

The followers of Hezbollah movement are mostly Shia Muslims who have an ideology of anti-western kind. They fully condemn the western culture and lifestyles. They believe in the Iranian style of Islamic Republic in Lebanon and wanted to remove the so called anti-Islamist influences from the area.

The movement attempts to reach its goal of creating Muslim States where the leader is both the head of the religious and political branches. The five time recitation of the Holy Bible through out a day to be made compulsory. Also the women rights to be restricted and The Purdah or cloth to cover face be made essential.

The movement gets nearly eighty to hundred millions of dollars as aid every year and the same money is used to finance the terrorist attacks through out the world. The various terrorist attacks under this movement include the followings.

The abduction of Western hostages in 1982.
Suicide attacks on the US Marines and French Military barracks in Beirut.
Regular terrorist attacks at various places in Israel.
Connections with the Osama Bin Laden, and Al Qaieda.
Supported and financed the 9/11 attacks.

Success story of the movement:

The Hezbollah got many successes in the initial stages. Its first success was in Iran. In 1979, the American sponsored Shah of Iran was overthrown by Ayatollah Khomeini, the supporter of Hezbollah movement. Further more the movement became so popular that it took the authority of calling on Arab and other Muslim states to defend Syria in April 2003, in case of any military action by the United States.

At present it is financing and controlling almost all active terrorist groups through out the world in the wake of fighting Jihad or the holy war for the rights of the Muslim community.

Conclusion:

No terrorist group or organization has enough power to grow and expand until it is state sponsored and facilitated. Such terrorist groups fulfill the personal and ideological motives of few extremist groups by killing the general public. Although this act is a terrorist act but is renamed by the terrorist as a Jihad or holy war for the protection of Muslim rights in the whole world.
