To me, this chapter is what I think of as the turning point in

the book. The chapter begins with two soldiers traveling back

planes high in the sky. The planes begin to drop small devices

with bluish parachutes attached. The Nazis get down to fear what

these bundles are. Still some work forces go on to open them, and

inside them reveal programs for a rebellion. It gives waies on

how to undermine the railwaies made by the Nazis. A meeting

was so held about these devices ( The Nazis were afraid to

open them ) . When opened, Colonel Lanser? s choler raged to

happen the waies to the rebellion. ( At this point, Steinbeck

reveals Tonder is dead as a consequence of coming back to Molly? s

is denied. Not because he is angry, but because he has no

control of the people. Mayor Orden told Lanser the people
