3. Explain why the following minor characters are of import to the drama Julius Caesar:

Calpurnia, Portia, The Soothsayer, Decius, Cinna, the Poet,

Artemidorus

In Julius Caesar there were many of import characters throughout the drama like Caesar, Brutus and Mark Antony. These characters were the chief portion of the narrative line and made the narrative line work. Like any other drama at that place besides needs to be minor characters to assist allow the drama flow swimmingly and do it more interesting. Minor characters are even needed to assist people understand the drama more and add of import statements throughout the novel to do it more gratifying. Here are several minor characters that were of import to the drama Julius Caesar.

Calpurnia was Caesar & # 8217 ; s married woman. She loved him in a heartfelt way and cared for him. She didn & # 8217 ; t want to see him ache in any manner at all. She merely wanted to be with him everlastingly so they could populate a happy life together in peace. She played a really of import function in the drama. Calpurnia had a unusual dream one dark before the plotters killed Caesar. She dreamt that something horrible was traveling to go on to Caesar, that he was traveling to be killed. She tried to state him non to travel to his meeting by stating about this dream. He considered remaining place but so Decius talked him out of it. Calpurnia said & # 8220 ; We & # 8217 ; ll send Mark Antony to the senate-house ; and he shall state you are non good today: Let me upon my articulatio genus, prevail in this. & # 8221 ; ( Act 2, Sc. 2, lines 52-54 ) but Caesar was really of import in the drama. She tried to salvage Caesar, but he would non listen to her. Although her function in the drama was really little it was still really of import to the drama. Like Calpurnia, Portia was besides a married woman of a major character in the drama. She was the married woman of Brutus, Caesar & # 8217 ; s best friend and besides one of the plotters against Caesar. Portia played a really little function in this drama but it was still a really little function in this drama but it was still a really of import function and she was of import to the drama. When Brutus was speaking to another plotter about killing Caesar, Portia overheard them. She thought this was awfully incorrect and he should non travel through with the confederacy and he should seek to halt the other plotters from traveling through with it excessively, but Brutus would non listen although he was Caesar & # 8217 ; s most sure and best friend. Portia tried harder and she said to Brutus, & # 8220 ; No my Brutus you have some ill discourtesy within your head & # 8221 ; ( Act 2, Sc. 1, lines 267-268 ) Portia tried to assist Caesar and halt Brutus, by making this she played a really of import function in this drama.

Another minor character that played an of import function in Julius Caesar was the Soothsayer. He warned Caesar to be careful. & # 8220 ; Beware the Ides of March & # 8221 ; ( move 1, Sc. 2, lines 19 and 23 ) was what the Soothsayer said to Caesar. Caesar merely brushed him aside stating he is a dreamer, and igno

ruddy him. The Soothsayer knew something bad was traveling to go on to Caesar though every bit did Calpurnia, with her dream. The Soothsayer likely played the smallest portion in the drama but he was besides a really of import minor character in the drama.

Decius was one of the plotters in the drama. He is another minor character which played an of import function in the drama Julius Caesar. When Calpurnia was seeking to convert Caesar non to travel out the twenty-four hours he was murdered because she had a bad feeling that something bad was traveling to go on to him, because of a dream that she had, Decius convinced him otherwise. Decius says that her dream should be interpreted as a good dream and negotiations Caesar into traveling out to his meeting. He says, & # 8220 ; the senate have concluded to give this twenty-four hours a Crown to mighty Caesar. If you shall direct them word you will non come, their heads may alter & # 8221 ; ( Act 2, Sc. 2, lines 93-96 ) He says this to speak Caesar into traveling, and it works. Decius plays an of import function in the confederacy because if he ne’er talked Caesar into traveling, the whole confederacy would & # 8217 ; ve been ruined.

In the drama there were two Cinna & # 8217 ; s, Cinna, the poet and Cinna the plotter. Cinna, the poet ran into a spot of bad luck. After Mark Antony convinced all the towns people that the people involved in the confederacy should be punished and Caesar should hold lived the townspeople went around killing all the plotters. When they came to Cinna the poet and they asked him his name they decided that they should kill him although he wasn & # 8217 ; t a plotter. They decided that since he had the same mane as one of the plotters he should be punished purchase decease. & # 8220 ; It is no affair, his name & # 8217 ; s Cinna ; Pluck but his mane out of his bosom, and turn his traveling & # 8221 ; ( move 3, Sc. 3, lines 33-34 ) said one of the citizens and so they killed him. He was an of import character because his decease showed how much the citizens wanted the plotters dead.

Artemidorus is the last minor character that I will discourse. He was a instructor of rhetoric. Artemidorus was really of import. He tried to advise Caesar of all the plotters by directing him a missive. & # 8220 ; Oh Caesar read mine foremost ; for mine & # 8217 ; s a suit that touches Caesar nearer: read it, great Caesar & # 8221 ; ( Act 3, Sc. 1, lines 6-7 ) Artemidorus says this to seek and acquire Caesar to read his missive foremost but it does non work and Caesar leaves to travel to the Senate-House. If Caesar had listened to Artemidorus so he would hold lived but he chose non to listen to him and read his missive. Because of this Artemidorus was a really of import character to the novel.

All of the characters that I have mentioned were all really of import to the drama. Without them the drama would & # 8217 ; ve been losing really of import parts. Although they merely had really little functions, they were needed in the drama merely every bit much as Brutus or Marcus Antonius. They all helped the drama Julius Caesar come together doing it another fantastic drama by William Shakespeare.
