On the eventide of October 17, 2000 I, along with 100s of people, gathered in the Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center to watch the ill-famed New York Philharmonic. The concert was scheduled to get down at 7:30pm. Peoples gathered to their assigned seats around 7pm. As we sat and waited for the concert to get down, I absorbed the milieus about me. I could smell the fresh odor of the wood, along with the odor of people & # 8217 ; s assorted Colognes that filled the air that would do the sounds echo along with the high ceiling. I was seated up on the 3rd grade. A spot high up but was able to see everything. I felt as if I was populating upper category, being dressed up and hearing and watching a unrecorded concert.

At 7:30, the concert began. This peculiar concert was particular because it was a testimonial to Leonard Bernstein, one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. The New York Philharmonic orchestra started off with a well-known piece by Bernstein, Jeremiah Symphony No. 1. This was the first clip I had heard this piece. Equally shortly as I heard it, it stirred such an emotion in me that I did non cognize whether to shout or be overjoyed. The Jeremiah piece lasted for about 10 proceedingss. When the piece had ended, everyone clapped gracefully. I

T was an uplifting but slow traveling piece.

The following piece that the orchestra played was a work done by Mendelssohn, his Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor Op. 25. The of all time talented and beautiful Mitsuko Uchida played this peculiar piece. She played the piano. The piano concerto piece was speedy traveling really gratifying to listen to. As I watched Ms. Uchida drama Mendelssohn & # 8217 ; s piece on the expansive piano, I was stunned at the velocity her custodies were traveling all about the piano. To listen to and watch a individual with every bit much music artistic ability such as Mitsuko Uchida was perfectly fabulous. Fabulous, really, does non truly depict it. Merely being at that place, in individual, watching outstanding accomplishment was perfectly mind-boggling. The fact that Mendelssohn was an outstanding creative person himself, following to Mozart and Beethoven, hearing person play his music live was unlike any other experience I have of all time had. The piece lasted about 15 proceedingss, wheemed like merely a few proceedingss. The chef-d’oeuvre had ended before I knew it. Once the piece had ended everyone applauded like they have ne’er applauded earlier.

The concluding piece of the dark played by the R, Op. 88. In this graphics, the full New York Philharmonic played together. It was similar to a expansive coda where an full dramatis personae would execute.
