swayers in human history, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and
Genghis Khan. This will foremost dwell of an scrutiny of the
personalities and gifts of each of these swayers. Detailss of the class
and extent of the conquerings and accomplishments of each person will
follow this. The permanent parts made by these three work forces will
so be noted. The first swayer under consideration is Alexander the
Great. He was the boy of Philip II, King of Macedonia, and his married woman
Olympia, in the twelvemonth 356 B.C. ( ^Alexander^ ) . He was a pupil of
Aristotle, and gained involvements in the countries of doctrine, medical specialty,
and scientific probe ( ^Alexander^ ) . Aristotle took great attention
in supplying Alexander with a really structured and disciplined instruction
( Williams 7-9 ) . However, Alexander^s male parent, Philip II, would non
let Alexander to organize the wonts of a hermit. Philip initiated
Alexander early with the responsibilities of his high station. It was in this
function that Alexander showed his ability to take work forces, and be a great
decision maker. At age 16, Alexander was appointed Regent of
Macedonia, while Phillip was detained at the besieging of Byzantium
( Williams 10 ) . It has been noted that Alexander, by this point, had
already astonished some Iranian deputies by the applicability of his
inquiries, and the acuteness of his mind ( Williams 10 ) . By the
clip he was 18, Alexander had commanded the left wing of the ground forces
at the conflict of Chaeroneia, and defeated the Thebans ( Williams
10-11 ) . The followers is an history of the words of Arrian, an
familiarity of Alexander. He spoke these words Alexander^s decease on
June 13, 323 B.C. :
Let him who would revile Alexander, non choose a few blamable Acts of the Apostless,
but sum up all his great workss and qualities, and so see who and
what he himself is who would therefore mistreat the adult male who attained the
pinnacle of human felicity^who was the unchallenged sovereign of both
continents^and whose name has pervaded the whole of the earth^ My own
sentiment, hence, I will profess, that non without exceptional intent
of the divinity such a adult male was given to the universe, to whom none has of all time
yet been equal ( Williams 409 ) . The day of the month of Julius Caesar^s birth is in
difference. The likely day of the month was July 12 or 13, 100 B.C. ( David 12 ) .
His male parent was Gaius Caesar, who died when Julius was merely 16.
His female parent was Aurelia, who was a baronial adult female, and it seems certain
that he owed much to her ( David 12 ) . In 84 B.C. , Caesar married
Cornelia, a girl of Lucius Cornelius Cinna ( ^Caesar^ ) . Caesar is
noted for his great energy, mind, and physical province ( ^Caesar^ ) .
Caesar showed generousness to his oppositions after he defeated them,
nevertheless this did non needfully do him endeared to them ( ^Caesar^ ) .
He won the devotedness of his soldiers by the triumphs that he led them
through ( ^Caesar^ ) . He was a adult male of great mind and used this in
conflict as an first-class strategian. This was made evident in his
licking of the Gauls ( David 86-89 ) . This same mind assisted him in
going a great politician of his clip. He besides prepared his seven
books on the Gallic War for publication in 51 B.C. , wrote his books on
the civil war, and his Anticato ( ^Caesar^ ) . Genghis Khan was a warrior
and a swayer of mastermind who, get downing from vague and undistinguished
beginnings, brought all the mobile folk of Mongolia under the regulation
of himself and his household in a stiffly disciplined military province
